It is a coincidence that the morning after I ordered a TV tuner for our iMac that my RSS daily update revealed a cross-blog conversation about RSS, bittorrent, and PVRs combining to create a nice web of user contributed video feeds (one entry point, here).
User scenario 1:
Alice has stumbled on an episode of BBC World which has an interview with the creator of the Concorde. She presses the "feed" button on her PVR remote and from the resulting menu selects the "Aircraft Greats" feed, which she created a few months ago during her almost obsessive interest in the people who design aircraft.
A few hours later, Bob's PVR runs its periodic feed check and from Alice's feed receives an ID of the BBC World show. Bob's PVR searches its program guide for that ID and finds that it will be rebroadcast at 11:30 so it is added to the recording schedule. When Bob sits down to breakfast the next morning, he scans the available shows on his PVR and sees that he has the BBC World suggested by Alice's "Aircraft Greats" feed.
