Open [Project]

One of the advantages of using open formats and open licenses is that projects can share resources. This morning one of the Open Croquet guys posted a few avatars and because Ogoglio spaces use the same formats (obj + bvh) it took about 5 minutes to get them online:

Been a while since I've modeled characters, but I have one that might be ready to use which I can pass your way. It was part of an indy game project which died some years ago. The content is mine. I'd previously made it available to the indy game community - no strings attached. Don't recall if I generated a UV map for it. I suspect not. It's rigged and moves/deforms well, but I didn't generate any anims; code at the time was just at that stage when the project folded.

I'll have to dig it up and give it a look. It's heavy. Somewhere around 1500 tri's. In Maya, so .obj isn't a problem. We weren't using .bvh so I'm unsure if it conforms to your needs. Probably does, but it may have a different root node setup. Will get back to you.

Haven't forgotten. Just swamped with a project. As it turns out, I may use this model for some renderings (project is design/CAD for POP kiosks), so I'll likely be hunting for it this weekend for that.

Middle of next week I should be able to put something together of use.

Found the model buried in an archive (thought it was on the harddrive). Looking at this, the skeleton very likely isn't of any use as it reflects some in-progress work for that game. But the pose is neutral and you might be able to fit a standard .bvh to it. Of any use? I can send an .obj you way.
